Precision Adsorbents for Moisture Removal, Solvent Drying & Gas Purification

Molecular Sieve Beads are synthetic crystalline aluminosilicates engineered with uniform pore structures that selectively adsorb molecules based on size and polarity. Unlike general desiccants, molecular sieves provide targeted adsorption, allowing precise removal of water and impurities while excluding larger molecules—making them ideal for solvent processing, gas drying, and high-purity applications.

These beads are manufactured with high crush strength, low attrition, and consistent particle sizing to ensure reliable performance in packed columns and inline filtration systems. Their strong affinity for water enables ultra-low moisture levels, including dew points below -100°C when properly regenerated.

Available Types

3A Molecular Sieve Beads (3A Pore Size)

Selective Water Adsorption – Ideal for Solvent Dehydration

3A molecular sieve is the potassium-exchanged form of Type A zeolite with a pore opening of approximately 3 angstroms. It selectively adsorbs water while excluding larger molecules such as hydrocarbons and most alcohols, making it highly effective for drying sensitive solvents.

Key Features:

Adsorbs molecules <3A (primarily water)
Excludes hydrocarbons and larger organics
High adsorption capacity (~21 wt% water)
Excellent for moisture-sensitive systems

Applications:

Solvent dehydration (ethanol, benzene, toluene, hydrocarbons)
Natural gas and cracked gas drying
Refrigerant and air drying
Static and closed-system moisture control

Typical Specifications:

Pore Size: ~3A
Form: Spherical beads
Water Adsorption: ≥21 wt%
Bulk Density: ≥0.70 g/mL
Regeneration Temp: ~200–230°C

4A Molecular Sieve Beads (4A Pore Size)

General-Purpose Drying & Broad Moisture Removal

4A molecular sieve is the sodium form of Type A zeolite with a 4 angstrom pore opening. It adsorbs water along with small polar molecules such as CO₂, H₂S, and light hydrocarbons, making it a versatile, general-purpose desiccant.

Key Features:

Adsorbs molecules <4A (water, ammonia, CO₂)
Broader adsorption range than 3A
High capacity and rapid adsorption kinetics
Strong mechanical integrity for repeated cycles

Applications:

Air and gas drying systems
Solvent dehydration (less selective than 3A)
PSA and TSA drying systems
Packaging, electronics, and moisture-sensitive storage

Typical Specifications:

Pore Size: ~4A
Form: Beads or pellets
High static water capacity
Durable, regenerable structure

13X Molecular Sieve Beads (10A Pore Size)

Maximum Adsorption Capacity & Broad Spectrum Removal

13X molecular sieve (also known as Type X) features a larger pore size (~10 angstroms), enabling adsorption of a wide range of molecules including aromatics, CO₂, sulfur compounds, and larger hydrocarbons. It offers the highest capacity among common sieve types.

Key Features:

Adsorbs molecules <10A (large organics, aromatics, CO₂)
High adsorption capacity and throughput
Effective for impurity and color body removal
Strong affinity for polar and non-polar compounds

Applications:

Gas purification and air separation
Hydrocarbon and solvent processing
Removal of CO₂, H₂S, and sulfur compounds
General-purpose adsorption where selectivity is less critical

Typical Specifications:

Pore Size: ~10A
Form: Spherical beads
High capacity for large molecules
Regenerable via thermal or pressure swing methods

Shipping Type: Standard
